About College
In mid-May 1975, Utkalmani Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital was established as a private institution in Rourkela. Its principal was Dr. Ramakrushna Das, while its secretary was Dr. Bhagirathi Mohanty. The initial group of students was admitted, with a 4-and-a-half-year degree in D.H.M.S. They were associated with the State Board of Homoeopathy in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, and their studies continued until 1982.
Concurrently, the five-and-a-half-year program was introduced and is associated with the same state homoeopathy board in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The B.H.M.S. course was then permanently affiliated with Sambalpur University in the years 1992–1993 after being re-affiliated with the university in 1984, when the first batch of students took the university’s first B.H.M.S. examination. This occurred in Jyoti Vihar, Burla.
