About College
The Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital of Jagadguru Panchacharya Education Society is situated in the center of Kolhapur City, a district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. With effect from the academic year 1984–85, the institution offers the BHMS Degree program in Homoeopathic medicine, which is recommended by the Central Council of Homoeopathy (CCH), New Delhi, and sanctioned by the Department of Ayush, Ministry of Healthy and Family Welfare, Government of India. Additionally, this college has been offering postgraduate courses in pediatrics and the practice of medicine as MD (Hom) from the academic year 2011–12.
Established by the Panchaganga Education Charitable Trust, Kolhapur, the college was officially opened on August 31, 1984, at Shahu Smarak Bhawan, Kolhapur, by Honorable Shri. Bhai Sawant, the state’s Health Minister at the time. The college was later moved to Jagadguru Panchacharaya Education Society, Kolhapur, starting with the 2000–01 academic year. The college was originally associated with Shivaji University, Kolhapur, but has been approved by the Maharashtra government to offer a degree program in homoeopathy beginning in the 1984–1985 academic year. Additionally, the college has been associated with the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik, since the 1998–1999 academic year.
