The only government homoeopathic college in Gujarat is the Government Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital, Patan, which is also one of the most reputable homoeopathic colleges in India. The college maintains a 100-bed hospital on its own campus in Patan.The college has recognition from the Central Council of Homoeopathy and is associated with Gujarat University. Undergraduate courses have an annual admission of 100 students, while postgraduate courses have an annual enrollment of 28 students in total across 5 specializations: Materia Medica, Organon of Medicine, Repertory, Practice of Medicine, and Paediatrics.
Library: Books on homoeopathy and related medical matters are abundantly available in the college library. The journals, magazines, newspapers, and periodicals in the library are well-stocked. The college offers lecture halls, seminar halls, sports facilities, conference halls, canteens, well-equipped classrooms, and medical services.
Courses Offered: The five and a half-year Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) degree program in homoeopathy is offered by the Govt. Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital. The BHMS curriculum will last approximately four and a half years, including an obligatory internship of one year. There are one hundred seats available for BHMS. The college also provides a graded course for external candidates in addition to conventional B.H.M.S. (Graded Degree) courses.
