The late Dr. B. R. Sur, a prominent homoeopath in Delhi and a renowned philanthropist, founded the Dr. B. R. Sur Homoeopathic Medical College, Hospital, and Research Center in November 1985. The hospital was officially opened by Shri Jagpravesh Chander in 1987 as a 40-bed facility, but it began operations in 1986 with its diagnostic capabilities, including X-ray, ultrasound, ECG, pathology laboratory, and operation theater facilities.

On October 2, 1998, Dr. B. R. Sur gave the institution to the Delhi government’s NCT. On September 12, 2000, the esteemed Chief Minister of Delhi, Smt. Sheila Dixit, officially opened the Indoor Patient Department. Dr. A. K. Walia, the Minister of Health and Family Welfare at the time, presided over the event, which was attended by Dr. K. K. Aggarwal, the Vice Chancellor of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University.

Located in Nanak Pura, Moti Bagh (West), New Delhi, the Dr. B. R. Sur Homoeopathic Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre spans four (ground + 3) stories and occupies 36,000 square feet of covered space on an acre of land. The college is approved by the Central Council of Homoeopathy and is associated with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. August 1999 saw the admission of the first class of students under the Delhi government’s NCT.

The mission of this institute is to provide and advance homoeopathic education and training, as well as to establish benchmarks in the areas of community health care and research.
