About College
The Central Council of Homoeopathy, New Delhi, recommends the syllabi and curricula for P.G. and U.G. courses at Dr. Abhin Chandra Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, which is affiliated with Utkal University, Vani Vihar, Bhubaneswar.
Currently, the institution offers a three-year regular postgraduate study in homoeopathy including five subjects—materia medica, repertory, organon of medicine, practice of medicine, and pharmacy—as well as a five-and-a-half-year degree program in homoeopathy, known as the B.H.M.S. The P.G. course was introduced in the disciplines of Materia Medica from the 1996–1997 session, Repertory and Organon of Medicine from the 1997–1998 session, and the other two topics, i.e.Homoeopathic pharmacy and medicine in practice from 2007 to 2008.
The B.H.M.S. course can currently accept 25 students per year from each of the five P.G. departments.
The college’s physical space, faculty, lab, pharmacy manufacturing unit, library, diagnostic area, herbal garden, and other amenities are all well-maintained thanks to funding support from the Odisha and Indian governments.
The institute’s hospital is also unique in that it has state-of-the-art diagnostic tools, including ultrasound, X-ray, autoanalyser, ECG, slit lamp examination, and various other pathological investigations. It also has specialized clinics, physiotherapy, yoga, and occupational therapy, as well as computer applications for better health care. Patients are being seen in both the indoor and outdoor patient departments.IPD can accommodate 50 beds. In addition, the homoeopathic manufacturing section of this institute has received widespread recognition for producing strength medicines and mother tinctures that are authentic, high-quality, and standardized in homeopathy from all across the state. The State of Odisha’s 4 government homoeopathic hospitals and 560 government homoeopathic dispensaries receive the medications produced in the pharmacy unit. The State Homoeopathic Pharmacy has recently received financial support from the Department of AYUSH, Government of India, to improve its manufacturing unit. The building has already been built, and instruments and equipment will be placed shortly.
The three acres of land that make up the institute’s herbal garden were created with financial support from the Indian government and are located on the college’s grounds. It raises a variety of native and exotic plants, giving pupils a well-rounded educational experience.
Development and upkeep of the lovely, glossy landscape in front of the college building is handled by SBL Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi. The institute owns a total of 7.75 acres, or 3,04,92 square feet, of land. Three stories make up the college’s buildings. The institute has a hostel for men and women.
