About College
The Bhupendra Narayan Mandal Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, located in Saharsa, Bihar, was founded in 1973 under the name of the late Bhupendra Narayan Mandal, a socialist leader and former member of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. The social workers of the former Saharsa District, which included Madhepura and Supaul District, established the hospital to provide medical care to the suffering residents of the Kosi-ravaged areas, which included several districts in North Bihar. Saharsa served as the state’s former divisional headquarters. The college is located on the Saharsa Madhepura Bye-Pass Road, near the center of Saharsa’s Nagar Parishad.
The Bhupendra Narayan Mandal Educational and Social Development Trust, led by its Chairman Dr. Upendra Prasad Yadav, a retired homoeopathic physician and the former founder and principal of B.N.M. Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital Saharsa as well as the former chairman of the Bihar State Board of Homoeopathic Medicine Patna, is in charge of overseeing and guiding the college’s operations.

In addition, the institution has guest teachers, teaching staff, medical staff, a resident medical officer, additional medical staff, para-medical staff, and other staff members to ensure proper and efficient operation.
The Bihar State Board of Homoeopathic Medicine, Patna, initially recognized this institution in 1974 and authorized it to teach and train D.H.M.S. students for the academic years 1974–1975 and 1975–1976. The Bihar State Board of Homoeopathic Medicine transferred all of its homoeopathic medical colleges to Bihar University, and the college was affiliated with the latter starting in the 1976–1977 academic year and continuing until the 1981–1982 academic year. Following the implementation of Bihar State Homoeopathic Shikshan Sansthan Viniyaman and Niyantran Adhiniyan in 1987, the Department of Health, Medical Education, and Family Welfare of the Government of Bihar awarded the college affiliation in 1982 to facilitate the teaching of D.H.M.S., B.H.M.S., and Graded B.H.M.S. courses.
In order to provide instruction and training to B.H.M.S. students, the college is currently duly recognized by the Central Council of Homoeopathy Ministry of AYUSH Govt. of India, the Govt. of Bihar Department of Health Medical Education and Family Welfare, and B.R.A. Bihar University Muzaffarpur.
