Founded in 2001–2002, Anantrao Kanse Homeopathic Medical College is a private college located in Pune. The college has 100 seats available each year and is associated with the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik, Maharashtra.
A substantial collection of works on homoeopathy and related medical topics is kept in the college library. The journals, magazines, newspapers, and periodicals in the library are well-stocked. The college offers lecture halls, seminar halls, sports facilities, conference halls, canteens, well-equipped classrooms, and medical services.
The five and a half-year Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) degree program is offered at Anantrao Kanse Homeopathic Medical College. The BHMS curriculum will last approximately four and a half years, including an obligatory internship of one year. There are one hundred seats available for BHMS. The college also provides a graded course for external candidates in addition to conventional B.H.M.S. (Graded Degree) courses.
On the same grounds as the college is its own homoeopathic hospital. In addition to an OT room, labor room, pathology lab, radiology section (X-ray and USG), psychiatry and rehabilitation, physical therapy, and other departments, the hospital has a well-equipped 25-bed IPD and OPD.
Obstetrics/Gynecology, Pediatrics, and Medicine are all included in the OPD department. According to protocol, the IPD sector and OPD have wards for surgery, obstetrics/gynecology, and medicine, including pediatrics. In the OPD and IPD, patients who are both acute and chronic are examined. Homoeopathic medication is dispensed separately via OPD and IPD.
Students are exposed to a wide range of cases pertaining to all systems, including the musculoskeletal system (rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, etc.) and the respiratory system (bronchial asthma, COPD, allergic rhinitis, etc.). instances of dermatology (psoriasis, dermatitis, etc.) Pediatric instances (such as repeated UTIs and tonsillitis) IBS, APD, gastritis, and other digestive system disorders; elderly individuals; dementia; hypertension; diabetes mellitus; OA; gout; and psychiatric cases (schizophrenia, depression, anxiety disorder, etc.).
The college offers a fully functional hospital that complies with Central Council of Homoeopathy standards, offering top-notch clinical training and research facilities. In order to give students greater practical experience, the college is also connected to primary health centers and multispecialty hospitals in the area. Additionally, AKHMCH offers mobile OPD services throughout the surrounding area.
