About College
On September 9, 1963, a modest OPD block of an Ayurvedic college welcomed 60 students, marking the beginning of Pt. J.N.M. Medical College Raipur. The Medical Council of India recognized the college in 1969. In 2009, the number of MBBS seats was increased from 100 to 150.
A substantial collection of works on homoeopathy and related medical topics is kept in the college library. The journals, magazines, newspapers, and periodicals in the library are well-stocked. The college offers lecture halls, seminar halls, sports facilities, conference halls, canteens, well-equipped classrooms, and medical services.
The Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS), a five and a half-year degree programme in homoeopathy, is offered by Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru Memorial Institute of Homeopathic Medical Sciences. The BHMS curriculum will last approximately four and a half years, including an obligatory internship of one year. There are one hundred seats available for BHMS. The college also provides a graded course for external candidates in addition to conventional B.H.M.S. (Graded Degree) courses.
The hospital offers services in all medical specialties, as well as in the superspecialties of pediatric surgery, neurosurgery, cardiology, and nephrology. The largest medical facility in the state for cancer patients is a state-of-the-art radiation and cancer department.
