About College
Originally called Shankarmath Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital, Mahesh Bhattacharyya Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital was founded on March 27, 1967, on the Sankar Math site in Ramrajatala, Howrah, by the late Dr. Bhola Nath Chakrabarty. On April 14, 1972, the college opened for business in its own building at 1, G. T. Road (S), Howrah – 1, with 400 students, 6 large rooms, an OPD, and 30 beds. This was made possible by a donation from Mahesh Bhattacharyya & Co., Homeopathic Chemist & Druggist, as well as sizeable contributions from kind members. The Mahesh Bhattacharyya Homeopathic Medical College & Hospital is the new name for the restored hospital.
